HTC Titan Exchange Server 2007 Sync Problem

Hi all, I have got this weird problem with Exchange Server 2007 sync with Windows Phone Mango. I have got the following HTC Model.

Specifications
Smartphone   : HTC Titan x310e
Windows                 : Phone 7.5
OS Version   : 7.10.7720.68
Firmware                : 1600.2200.10902.401
Bootloader   : 1.8.160015.3(132000)
Chip Soc Ver   :1.6.0.0
Exchange       : 2007 Server with the Latest Updates
Access       : OWA Enabled / Active Sync Enabled
Certificate Auth   : Local Certificate Authority. NO third-party

What I need

I am not able to send and receive E-mails on my Smartphone. Always require Outlook information pops-up although the information I have entered is correct. In short I need to Sync my Exchange e-mails on my HTC TITAN Windows Phone 7.5

What I did

1.Went to HTC TITAN Mobile Settings > Add Email accounts
2.While adding exchange account, it doesn’t find my exchange server settings. Error message “ We couldn’t find your settings”
3.Enter manually all the Details such as
4.E-mail address
5.Password
6.Domain Username
7.Domain that I logon to at my workplace
8.And then click “Sign-In”
9.Message comes up “we couldn’t find your settings”
10.I click now “advanced” tab
11.Enter my Mail server “mail.domain.local” (this is the OWA address that I type on the IE bar i.e http://mail.domain.local
12.Then I click on “Sign-in”
13.Error message “Not trusted certificate for the domain”
14.I then installed the ROOT CA from my domain that issued to the Exchange Server. (I can confirm this because next to the Certificate it states “Root Certificate”, DER Coded binary). I created another Hotmail account and e-mailed it to that. From the Hotmail account, I installed the certificates. Don’t know where it got installed on my Windows Phone
15.After which another messages pops-up “ you would require a private certificate”
16.I enrolled and requested a Private certificate from my CA. I exported all including the Private keys
17.After which it syncs my e-mails, Temporarily

What is happening now

1.But after few minutes of inactivity, I get pop-up message “ Update your information for mail.domain.local and press save”
2.I look at my Exchange OWA under mobile devices, it says Sync Status is “OK”
3.I have entered more times that I can remember and it still asks me
4.Leaving it alone won’t do any good as it won’t sync AT ALL
5.I have Resetted the phone and re-installed the certificates
6.I have recreated the Outlook account, works for first 10 Minutes ONLY
7.I have done the setup using “Add Email accounts > Advanced Setup > Exchange Active Sync Also”
8.Checked all the system locale i.e it is US English, United States in Regional Language
9.I checked the dates and time and all are synced
10.Made sure all the Windows Phone 7.5 updates are in place using Zune
11.Made sure all the WIFI and Data Connections are available.
12.Created Hotmail account simultaneously and it SYNCS very well
13.What am I doing wrong Huh?  Huh?

Thanks for all your help. Funny iPhone and Android Devices don’t ask for all this and in one short, everything works perfect.

At this point, being Christmas and all, I am thinking to offer a reward if anyone can help my IT people get me connected to our exchange server. he told me not to get the phone, even though we are a microsoft shop, including sharepoint. but i love and live in onenote and figured i could work around mail problems(or maybe even figure it out). OWA is terrible on the phone and the linked inbox is so cool, except my office mail is only linked when i'm at the office!!

I've started keeping a table of stuff I've tried. I do not know if ActiveSync is enabled. I asked him this today. I do know we have a self cert and he mailed it to me in sept. that is when my sync "on wifi only" started working. when i leave the office wifi, i get no mail.

This is the only thing i hate about my fabulous samsung focus. i had hoped the mango update would change things, but no. i got this phone in feb 2011. it took months to get to the point where i can sync , then i discovered it only works on company wifi.

Errors: 80072EFD, 80072F06, 80072EE7
i get one of 3 different error messages depending on whether i use the domain or the IP and whether i check the ssl box or not.

BEST Result:
without the ssl box checked and using the IP, sync occurs ONLY IF i'm on office wifi. Also, i do not get an error opening the linked inbox about connection problems from the exchange account.

if i change anything i get no mail and get an error every time i open the linked inbox.

i keep seeing others eventually resolve their issue. I have no access to the server and since all others are using iPhone and BB, there is little interest on the part of those who do in working this out for me.

We have Exchange 2007. I need very specific ideas i can serve up in an easy to do looking way in hopes they might try the solution and that it might work.

Seems like it really should not be this hard, even if something in the exchange setup were junky. everybody else gets their mail. what must i do?

Hello there,

did you have any luck with the issue?

Is the certificate you are using a self signed one by the server or is it a subject alternative name certificate, if it is self signed get your IT guys to get a SAN certificate and setup auto discover correctly and auto discover will configure account for you, and take about 30 seconds and you are all go.

you say you go to http://mail.domain.local you should be going to mail.domain.com or what ever your website extension is, if you are going to .local that would be my first clue as to why it isn't working correctly,

Cheers
